A room of cinematographers.
The Salon's working community lives in a private Facebook group. It's where DPs, ACs, colorists, and adjacent crew trade notes between jobs — questions about lenses, dailies, lighting calls, money, the producer who made the call. The kind of conversation that doesn't fit in public.
A glimpse of the people who've come through the podcast. The community is the ongoing conversation around them.
A smaller room.
We're not gatekeeping the craft. The Salon is private because the interesting conversation — the lens you actually picked, the dailies you saved, the producer who made the call — happens more honestly when it isn't being indexed for engagement.
We're on Facebook because most of you already are, and the group format is genuinely good for long-form back-and-forth. If you spend your days making images and you'd contribute to that conversation, you'll fit in. We mean it.
Fill out the form below and we'll send you the link by email. It's short on purpose. If we have a question, we'll just write back.
Come say hi.
Three lines and we'll send you the group link.
Members keep the conversation going.
The Salon runs on Patreon support — the group, the writing, the events when we can put them on. If you find a home in the room, joining at any tier helps it stay open and ad-light.
